I know, I know I got my new camera recently and it was supposed to be for all major holidays for the next year! ;-) But I have been wanting a smaller, 3-quart porcelain-coated cast-iron Dutch oven for awhile now and so...I ordered one last week and it came yesterday, just in time for my birthday today! YAY!! I love, love, love my 6-quart porcelain-coated cast-iron Dutch oven but since there is only the two of us, sometimes it is just too big. Anyway, just wanted to

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Candy! Your new fancy, foo foo, dutch oven is too pretty. I am looking forward to seeing the yummy things you make with it. Yeah, we farm girls are pretty easy to please, instead of flowers, give us floral colored kitchen implements are we're smiling. Happy Birthday Candy!! Funny post today, I have a pork roast in the oven in my 3qt casserole. Mine are Kitchenaid, but the same pretty red. I love them. I saw a 9qt one the other day but I don't think I could lift it full of food :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I get a dutch oven it will be the same red color! My birthday was just a couple days ago....so I guess I'll be waiting a while, or I will get it for my un-birthday

Happy birthday and happy new year! I have one of those 3 quart enamel coated cast iron pots and I love it. Yep, farm girls (and wannabe farm girls!) are easy to please. :)
ReplyDeleteKateri,
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you! I used my new pot last night and it was just the perfect size! :)
She's a beaut! Happy Birthday from here too. I just worked out today what you guys call a Dutch Oven - and I've had one all along! I thought it was a special pot for cooking outdoors, duh! I guess it used to be. Anyhoo, mine has last night's leftover chilli in it, so no photo's from me, plus it's in a very beaten up state. But I just read Posy Get's Cosy and she's linked to a new bread recipe that you bake in the DO, so I have a batch of dough fermenting in the airing cupboard and tomorrow, it's bread baking time!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you & yours too. X. BW
BettyWestern,
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have seen recipes for baking bread in the Dutch Oven but haven't tried it yet.
How do you like the lodge cookware?
ReplyDeleteNancy,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Lodge cookware! I've had the big one for several years now and it is great! I got them both from Wal-Mart, the small one I had to order with site-to-store free shipping, at a fraction of the cost of the "other" brands at places like Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Are you coming back to blogging? I miss you! I found your blog in the fall and have enjoyed your recipes and stories so much!
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela,
ReplyDeleteI'm here most every day! :)
