I had two of my Athena Cantaloupe plants grow to maturity and I ended up with exactly two beautiful cantaloupes. At least they are both nice and big, with firm flesh and really great flavor! :)

Cool! It always tastes better if you grow it yourself, right?
ReplyDeletewonderful sooc work!! YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteYay for you! Two is something. We can't grow a melon here to save our souls ... not hot enough for long enough. :( I shall live vicariously through you. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've had such temps that we were able to grow about 6 melons so far. 2 of them are still on the vine. But with recent cool temps and rain... I notice several little melons coming on the vine again!
ReplyDeleteAren't they delicious?
--yours look so pretty! enjoy,Pat
CAN you say...'nice melons' in the comments? ;)
Looks juicy!
ReplyDeleteOh, yum.
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious!
Glad you got a couple.
Looks good! I keep thinking I am allergic to melons (suddenly) now. I would like to grow one to see if it's chemicals or really the melon. I even have slight problems breathing- cantelope, honeydew, watermelon, etc.
ReplyDeleteI don't even like melon, and those look GREAT!! Exactly two is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI do so love the smell of these beauties! Good job!
ReplyDeleteWOW that one looks delicious. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI planted the same kind! And they are indeed delicious!
ReplyDeletevery inviting photograph and the melon too
ReplyDeleteOh, they look soooo good! I'm not sure that my cantelopes are going to have enough time to make this year after a late planting but I'm still holding out a teeny tiny bit of hope. And thank you for sharing your great looking recipe for pumpkin scones... it totally looks like another winner to me and I can't wait to try it!
ReplyDeleteHome grown melons are the best. Not like the supermarket varieties that are grown for shipping and lasting a long time in the store. I have been growing my own for several years. I am still waiting for them to ripen.
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is so yummy! It's making me hungry. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteThese melons (we call them rockmelons) look so fresh and juicy - and of course I love the colours. Thank you for contributing to Mandarin Orange Monday:)
ReplyDeleteDelicious! We only planted watermelon this year. That looks so good.
ReplyDeleteDelicious photography!
ReplyDeleteJuicy and inviting!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Mandarin Orange Monday.
My Orange entry
Have a great day!
Beautiful! They look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI have some melons, but not that big!
My cantaloupe vines died shortly after sprouting so I'm very jealous right now :) And hungry...very hungry!
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in the first Orange You Glad It's Friday. Hope to see you back next week!

ReplyDeleteIt looks so juicy!
ReplyDeleteI played too. Mine is here.
Oh, how fun, Candy! Cantaloupe is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteLovely flower pict too.
That looks so yummy! I'm sure it tastes even better knowing you grew it.
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I'm glad you at least got these two! I want to try to grow some next year!
ReplyDeleteWell, you did better than I did. That looks perfect! I had one tiny edible melon. The rest rotted on the vine. (Though I have one plant that I planted much later that has three small melons on it. We will see if they ripen!)
