Tuesday Muse - 07/16/2013

Which is a GOOD thing when it's a bowl of yummy Rainier cherries!

I envy those of you in the Northwest where they are plentiful. Here, they are $5 per pound at the cheapest...but I buy them anyway. :)

Linking up with Nancy for Tuesday Muse.

  1. Cherries - a long time favorite of mine. The started out at $8 a pound here and when they dropped to $5 it was time to buy. Yours look so yummy - I'd love to try one.

  5. Indeed we are lucky up here in the PNW - the lowest I've seen Raniers this season is 2.49 - and you can believe that I'm eating all that I can. At the beginning of the season they are 5.99 a pound - but I can never wait for the fruit stands to pop up every few blocks - I buy them early and enjoy them just as much - I figure it all averages out in the end.

  8. Apparently it's too hot here for sweet cherries, but my dwarf pie cherry tree did put out cherries this year! All TWO of them. Oh well. Enjoy yours! :)

  10. Lovely shot of the Rainiers. I'm more of a "Bing" girl myself but both are quite plentiful here in the PNW.

  12. Oh Rainiers! They are so delicious! I'm pretty sure the cherry growers around here lost their crop in two different freezes....the latest one in mid-May!

  15. The only cherries I found at the Farmer's Market last year, were for pie baking. I'd love to get my hands on some for jam/jelly this year.

  17. Yummy! I love them as well but they are so pricey here in MO! I rarely buy them, but I definitely enjoy them when I do get my hands on some!

  18. You would not envy us if you had trees because then you would have crows who would eat all the cherries before anyone else got any. I am glad Peanuts do not grow on trees.
