I really like the look of this old gate and the fact that it is wired to the post on the hinge side and tied shut with baling twine. With the weed growing up through it, I don't think it gets opened very often! ;-)
Check out Friday's Fences at Life According To Jan and Jer for more great fences and gates!
I really like this old gate! I could see a clematis climbing up it...wouldn't that be pretty?!
ReplyDeleteLove old wooden things, and this gate fits the bill. Your pictures are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteand look where the handle is...if it had been round, I'd say it was a Hobbit door!! Nice find~

I love old stuff...
ReplyDeleteAnother instance of a fence telling a story? In this case, maybe one of thrift or solving one problem and moving on to the next. Actually this gate would be quite lovely if it were in a differnet place and hung more carefully.
ReplyDeleteLove the arched top -- someone took some time to make this!
ReplyDeleteWow! I like your new blog look. Your photography is great.
ReplyDeleteyour Bro'
Looks like some of the fix-its here at NoDak Herefords! Yes, duct tape, twine & wire are still commonly used to make quick repairs!
