On our way up to Flagstaff last week, we pulled off the interstate so I could take some pictures of an older homestead and some horses. This wild sunflower was growing in the ditch alongside the country road.

ReplyDeleteThere's nothing quite as happy as a sunflower! :)
ReplyDeleteMay be a roadside flower, but its color is brilliant and the soft shadows on its petals make it even better. Great capture! Thanks for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteBreath-taking and beautiful! I love sunflowers!
ReplyDeleteNice! I love the Flagstaff area, really pretty and alpine :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you love seeing happy flowers blooming in places such as ditches? One year, there were sunflowers blooming as individuals alongside a nearby rural highway; I think there must have been sunflower seeds in the new gravel. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCandy, I use 100% cotton yarn for my dishcloths. They shrink if they are washed in hot or warm water, but are pretty sturdy. I dry mine on the line, and they will get stiff like towels, when dried outside.
Beautiful! Sunflowers are among my favorites :)

ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying all the sunflowers around the blogs right now. Mine aren't doing so well, so I'm glad you shared this one.
ReplyDeleteI stopped along a side road up there once and collected a bunch of their seeds. I brought them home and spread them out in the yard. The following year I was rewarded with my own forest of sunflowers!
