Barn Parts

We visited some friends in Willcox recently. They live on an old ranch property with a nice old wooden barn. The barn itself is pretty cool but I really like this old door and it's hinges.

Check out all the different types of fasteners holding on this hinge! I would say it's been repaired once or twice, wouldn't you?  ;)

Neat photo. Yes, it does look like it has seen it's days. That's an awesome hinge.

The wood on the barn is so cool. I love the shape of the worn hole next to the door.

Pretty cool photo! I like old barns but hate to see them fall into disrepair. It must be very costly to keep up.

When I saw the photo of the hinge I had to smile, because when we were in San Antonio last January we went to the Missions there and my husband and I both walked around taking photos of the hinges. I need to post those photos :)

They do have a way of working themselves loose. Don't know why. These are great captures to shot the character of this old barn.

I wonder what caused that notch out near that door?
Is that what they call 'cribbing'?
The effect of an animal...chewing the wood?

It looks so cool.
