Spring Has Sprung!

At least according to my Santa Rosa plum tree and the bees! :)

We are expecting temps in the mid 80s by the end of the week but there is still a chance of getting a freeze here through the end of April. Jerry went to the thrift store the other day and bought several old sheets that we can use to cover the fruit trees if a freeze is forecast. We haven't had any fruit the past two years because of late freezes and I really would like to get some this year, especially the plums and peaches! YUM!!

Texture Tuesday - 02/19/2013

For Texture Tuesday this week, Kim asked us to use at least one of the textures from her new Downtown Collection. I used Cora for the pink and Sybil to lighten it up a bit. I also added one of Bonnie's Vintage Manuscript textures just because I really like them! Jerry bought me these tulips for Valentine's Day just so I'd have some flowers to photograph. Isn't he sweet? I sure am having fun "playing" with photos. :)

It's always fun when we get snow here in the high desert. We get to enjoy the beauty and it's usually all gone by noon! ;)

Cuppa Flowers

This week's prompt for Texture Tuesday is "cuppa" and I thought I would share the last of my colorful birthday flowers in one of my favorite cups to brighten up everyone's day! Unfortunately, I broke the handle off this cup several years ago but couldn't bear to part with it so it is now my pencil cup here on the computer desk. This very much "lived in" barn was right beside the highway in Lincoln county, New Mexico.
I suspect the folks who live there (and were outside working) were wondering what the crazy lady with the camera was up to! :)

I'm joining Kim Klassen for Texture Tuesday this week for the first time. This picture is from earlier this year and I edited it with Nancy's free texture called Candy! ;-) Thanks Nancy!!

If you are interested in learning how to add textures to your photos, check out Kim's free Learn Textures In Ten Minutes class. It's geared to Photoshop but it works just fine using Pixlr too. A few things are different but not much.
