Farmgirl Quilt

Is this not the cutest Farmgirl quilt?!? I wish I could say I made it but...NOT! LOL!!

I met Marie at the Tucson Quilters Guild annual quilt show yesterday afternoon. Marie is a member of the guild and a very good quilter. It was fun to see all the beautiful quilts and have some insight from a real quilter on design and fabric selelction. I have pieced quilt tops before but have never done any actual 'quilting'. It is something I would like to try now that I'm 'retired'. It was also fun to visit all the vendors! I bought some pink socks to make the granddaughter a pink Sock Monkey, a pattern for quilted, stuffed bears and a pattern for a wool applique wall hanging.

I really liked the 3-D details of the clothes on the line. :)

P.S. Marie was kind enough to take these pictures for me since I neglected to bring my camera. Thanks Marie!

As the daughter and granddaughter of quilters, I so appreciate these fabulous works of art. My grandmother did a lot of applique and of course, hand-quilted her work! My mother started as an adult and hand-quilted until about 6 years ago, when she began having them machine-quilted. This is a wonderful quilt!

I LOVE this quilt Candy. Michelle and I were just talking about doing a B.O.M. Farmgirl quilt and I have been designing one, NOTHING this sophisticated mind you, but I've been craving getting creative again in my sewing room. This one reminds me of the one Michelle made for her guild's Christmas Quilt exchange. Her 3D effect was a string of mini Christmas lights on a fence. This is too cute. Thanks for sharing it.

That is a super cute quilt find! Quilts are an art form all their own.

WOW! This is beautiful. Imagine personalizing it? Your house, your horse, etc. I agree that the 3D adds so much.

That is adorable. I think I've put hand-sewing a quilt on my bucket list. I think it's going to have to wait a while though.
