I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago. All the flowers are gone from the cactus now and the fruit are starting to ripen. If I have the time, and the javelina don't get them all, I will make some prickly pear jam this year from the prickly pear fruit. :)

I had a little fun editing this next one. I have been practicing the spot color technique in
Pixlr. I lightened the desaturate overlay to 75%.

they're gorgeous! and i very much like your treatment on the last shot.
How beautiful they were -- so glad you took some photos before they disappeared. :)
Isn't it amazing that plants covered with thorns have such beautiful flowers!
There is just no bloom as beautiful as a cactus bloom. Such a strange thing to have such beauty come from such a rather homely plant. Hmmm...a lesson to be learned there, me thinks! :O
I've hard prickly pear is pretty good? Hey, come over to my site and enter my 1 year blogversary giveaway! :)
How pretty! I have had prickly pear jam before : ) The last shot is cool.
Oh...these are beautiful photos! I can see the similarity between these flowers and the zygo flowers on my two plants. I've done selective coloring in Elements, but I need to check out Pixlr! (Do the javelinas cause any problems for you?)
Just stumbled on your blog from Your Sunday Best and had to say hello from a fellow Arizonan! LOVE LOVE the image of your cacti! But so glad to be up in the White Mountains for now.
Keep cool,

SO gorgeous! Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #36!
I want to make some prickly pear jam too this year...in fact, I made a prickly pear chutney when we lived here before that was wonderful! Would you like the recipe?
So pretty! I do love what you did to the last photo.
