Black and White Wednesday - 5/16/2012

This windmill and catch pen are located on the Ash Canyon Ranch not too far from us. Jerry sometimes rides out with one of our friends, who is the ranch manager, checking waters and fences and we have helped gather and brand too.
Linking up for Black and White Wednesday at Me As A Mother and like Christmas every day.

Candy, that photo is gorgeous. You should take photos to the Farmer's Market too. Love it!

Candy

Congratulations on your feature on The Country Homemaker.

Excellent B&W picture. I like the contrast between wood fence and the windmill.

What a great shot! I love the editing you've done also. I really wish my windmill were located in a more photogenic location.

Love the black and white. I wonder if the wind mill works....is it pumping water?

Love all your pic you take of scenes from out west. You make them look like they were taken back in the days of the old west. Great job....I wanted to let you know i finally made a batch of your baking mix and couldnt wait to get some buttermilk and whip up a batch of biscuits. They tasted wonderful but they did not rise much. I soon remembered that i had my baking powder stored in the refrigerator, and i stored the baking mix in the pantry. Could that have made a difference in it rising???? Im gonna try another batch soon.

Have you ever thought of turning your pictures into cards. They would be beautifull

Sheryl,
If your baking powder was old at all it would affect the rising of the biscuits. I use Rumford baking powder and go through it quite quickly as I bake a LOT! It also helps to have your dough a little on the soft side and to handle it as little as possible. I hope it works better for you next time! :)

Wonderful B&W! We saw a lot of windmills in TX but don't see very many here, I guess because we don't get out where the ranches are much! :-) They are so picturesque!
