The Chickens' Tomatoes

I guess the chickens don't think they get enough tomatoes from the garden. I usually give them the ones with bug holes in them, the ones that don't sell at the Farmer's Market and the ones that sit in the refrigerator a little too long. It seems they have decided that isn't enough and have started growing their own! This big plant is on the south side of their yard.

There are blossoms....

 and tomatoes!!

They even have a couple of plants started on the east side of their yard.

Maybe I should just put the chickens in charge of the garden next year!! :)

Your gardening chickens have green thumbs... or, um, green toes!

homegrown countrygirl,
It really surprised me to see those tomato plants, especially the big one! It was hiding in some tumbleweeds! LOL!!

Glad the chickens are doing so well as gardeners. :) Mine...um...well, they aren't allowed within a mile of anything I'm trying to grow! :)

Too cute! Don't you just love it when that happens? My chicken have a marvelous crop of horehound plants growning in their yard. They never have a cough! ;~P

That happened to us too. The chicken manure compost pile has plants growing in it. So funny!

MamaTea,
Yeah, they would be pretty destructive in the "real" garden!

Lady Farmer,
That's funny! I like horehound, wonder how it would grow here?

Annie,
Never despair, there's always next year! :) My green beans are dismal this year.

Kristina,
Gotta love those heirloom seeds, they'll grow anywhere! :)

Nancy,
That is funny, it's like feeding time in the shark tank when we feed our girls tomatoes! LOL!!
