Then, it started coming down in earnest! The kids were enjoying it!
Then, it started raining sideways and we all made a dash for the house! It thundered and the lightning flashed. The power went out for awhile and I had to remind all of our "city" visitors not to use any water until the power came back on because the well pump wouldn't work without electricity. After all was said and done, we ended up with 3/4 of an inch of rain in about 30 minutes. This morning, the velvet ants were out, they usually only show up after a big rain, and we could hear the toads croaking in the run-off stock tank near the house this morning.
The garden is VERY happy this morning, there's nothing like nitrogen rich rain to perk up the plants! :)
