Fall Radishes

I love growing radishes! Other than Growing Your Own Sprouts there is no crop that gives such quick gratification. And they taste good! And they're good for you with lots of vitamin C (don't forget to put some of the greens in your salad)! And they're easy to grow! What's not to like? I picked these from the garden yesterday afternoon. I bought a nice big bag of lettuce for $1 at the Farmer's Market on Saturday, there are a couple of cucumbers from the garden still in the refrigerator and I am picking cherry tomatoes almost daily. Hmmm...I think I see a big salad for supper in our future! :)

Those are lovely. I didn't know you could eat the greens, I usually feed ours to our chickens or goats. Next spring, I'll add some to my salad.

Mooberry Farmwife,
The greens are peppery just like the radishes so I don't usually add too much!

TWG,
It doesn't matter how you get them as long as you eat them! ;)

The only way I can eat those is FRIED! :)

That's one vegetable that didn't make it in our garden this year. A salad sounds good too.

I never got around to planting them this fall. Normally I put in a row in early september and am picking them in october and november. Yours looks great.

MamaTea,
I have never heard of fried radishes! :0

Kristina and Kateri,
Because of our mild winters, I can and will do succession planting all through the winter! :)

Wow! Those are picture-perfect radishes. I grow them every year - as markers for my carrots - but they never turn out that nice. I love the greens, too. Nothing like a few radish greens to spice up your salad!

Susan,
The first ones always seem to be the prettiest! ;)
